At least three people were injured, some of whom seriously, when a car drove through a crowd near a metro station on the outskirts of Helsinki, Finish media reports.
According to the Helsingin Sanomat, a car veered on to the sidewalk, hitting a number of parked vehicles as well as at least three pedestrians.
At the moment however, there is no indication that the incident was intentional and police have said they are working under the assumption that it was an accident.
“There is nothing at the moment to suggest that this act was intentional, a representative of the Helsinki Police Department said.
The report said the driver seemed to have remained uninjured and has been taken into custody for questioning.
