The second most powerful woman in Germany is now stranded in Abuja as her VIP Airbus A340 developed technical fault and could not continue the trip to Mali. After a four-hour stopover in the Nigerian capital Abuja, 42 rooms were booked in a hotel in Abuja for the German Crew.
Her journey to Mali would continue on Monday,but it is still unclear the plane she would be using.
Earlier in the day,Von der Leyen had handed over a mobile field lazarett to the Nigerian army in the afternoon. In addition, Germany wants to provide three radar stations and 180 mini-search devices for the fight against the terror of the Islamic Boko Haram.
