President Buhari visits Germany for the G-7 Summit on 7th-8th June 2015
President Muhammadu Buhari would be at the G-7 Summit expected to take place in Germany on the 7th and 8th of June, 2015.
The Presidential delegation is expected to depart Nigeria at the weekend for Germany, to attend the summit.
Members of the G-7, comprising the United States of America, the United Kingdom, France, Canada, Italy, Japan and Germany had extended an invitation to President Buhari with a view to assisting Nigeria overcome it’s current challenges especially, security.
The Group of 7 countries, popularly called the G-7, represent the largest industrialized economies in the world. The group has significant influence in determining international policies and offer of critical support to developing countries like Nigeria.
The summit holds annually with this year’s expected to take place at Schloss Elmau, south of Munich in Germany. The theme for the summit is ‘Think Ahead. Act Together”. Key topics to be discussed include the global economy, foreign, security and development policy, as well as empowering self-employed women and women in vocational training, energy security, and the upcoming UN conferences on international climate protection and the post-2015 agenda. These issues are all of global medium- to long-term importance.
