Mali and Guinea are bracing themselves for the rare honour of advancing to the 2015 Africa Cup quarterfinals via a draw of lots.
The draw will be conducted at 17h00 CAT in Malabo to decide the final eighth team to complete this weekends quarterfinal roll.
Mali and Guinea are tied on three points and same goal aggregate after drawing 1-1 in their final Group D match on Wednesday.
Cote d’Ivoire escaped the prospect the draw of lots after beating Cameroon 1-0 on Wednesday night to qualify on five points in a Group D that had all four team’s even on the table heading into their respective final preliminary stage fixtures.
Cameroon finished last on two points after the defeat.
The draw will be very basic, two balls each containing the number two and three will be placed in one pot.
A Representative from Mali and Guinea will then be asked to pick a ball from the pot and reveal the number.
Ball number two is the magic ticket to the quarterfinals where Ghana awaits in the last eight on Sunday, February 1.
